Owner Tim Bleish opened Bag & Baggage at The Shops of Prairie Village in 1980. Tim worked at JD Edwards Company in high school and after its closure he decided he wanted to continue the legacy of a luggage store in Prairie Village. The original location was behind Bruce Smith Drugs and the shop moved to its current location next to bijin in 1997.
“I love seeing all the customers eating and utilizing the courtyard. We love this shopping center and its history. We love the PV community and are so happy to be a part of it,” shared Tim.
Bag & Baggage carries everything you need for travel as well as a huge selection of leather goods, gifts, writing instruments, desk accessories and games. In its tradition of excellent customer service, Bag & Baggage has a full-service repair shop on-site and offers free monogramming and gift wrapping.
“We enjoy meeting our customers face to face and being a part of the community. We love hearing about our customer’s trips and enjoy helping them get ready for their travels,” shared Tim.
While COVID created a lull in the travel world, Bag & Baggage adapted to meet the needs of customers. You will now find more puzzles and games than ever before. Plus, they offer a large selection of face masks and items to help with sanitizing and safe travel. Bag & Baggage also now offers curbside pickup and delivery.
“We have had to postpone our packing seminars which are free and help people get ready for their trip. We can’t wait until we can have these again and everyone starts traveling,” shared Tim.
