“We love bringing our top-notch services to the people in the community,”  said Owner and CEO, Connie Suss. 

bijin offers a full range of salon and spa services — from haircuts and color treatments to massage therapy, skin care and hand/foot care. The salon also offers a great selection of hair and skin care products as well as a dynamic retail shop stocked with fun, on-trend gifts to treat yourself with or give as gifts. 

Connie and her team is all about bringing the highest quality experience at bijin.  Committed to hiring and training the best staff and service providers, the talented team enjoys helping their clients feel their very best. 

 “It’s all about providing the very best experience for each and everyone who comes through our doors. And it’s a privilege to do so,” – stated Connie.

Connie started this journey in 1988 with then partner, Mary Jane Van de Castle at their four-chair salon in the heart of Westport.   In 1998, bijin relocated to Prairie Village and have enjoyed being a part of the PV family ever since. 

  “I can hardly believe we’ve been here for 22 years now!  I am a resident of PV, so it was a natural move,” said Connie.

  “Many of bijin’s earlier clients were coming from this area so that was nice for everyone! We enjoy being a part of this merchant community and are very grateful for the PV community that surrounds us,” exclaimed Connie.

Connie and her team have worked tirelessly from the very start of COVID to re-open with confidence. 

“We went into action mode — figuring out our new normal.  It’s been a complex and never-ending challenge but we are always committed to making our clients (and staff) feel safe and comfortable in our space,”  said Connie.

bijin invested in a new, high quality air-flow system, installed a beautiful, custom built plexiglass wall, and incorporated new COVID distancing measures (temperature taking, hand sanitizer stations, etc.) to ensure the safety of all.  

 Connie shared, “the client feedback has been overwhelmingly supportive, telling us how grateful they are that we are being so diligent and careful.”
