On the Ball is devoted to dogs by providing the highest level of daycare, boarding and grooming services in a space that feels like home. On the Ball opened their doors in the Spring 2019 and the business is a dream come true for owner, Meagan Dowell. Meagan’s passion for dogs prompted her to leave her accounting career and open up On the Ball. She desired to create a warm and welcoming place where dogs can be loved on while they play and stay!
“We are unique because we customize your dog’s experience according to their personality and comfort level. Whether they are shy or outgoing, their experience will be exactly what they need!” shared Meagan.
On the Ball is uniquely designed to offer a clean and quite environment so your pup can feel as comfortable as they would in your own home. From daily daycare, overnight boarding to grooming for dogs, On the Ball has a spot for every pup.
“We know and care for each and every dog that comes through our doors, and work to build a lasting relationship with the pups and you as their parents!” shared Meagan.
As an owner to three different and unique dogs, Meagan knows the importances of catering to specific personality types and energy levels for each dog. She values each dog’s individuality and is confident she can offer a welcoming space for your furry friend.
“Two of my own dogs were never able to successfully be in daycare at other facilities, only because they are shy. We created an environment and space where even the shy dogs can have one-on-one attention and care and be successful with other dogs of their same energy levels. I deeply care about all animals, especially dogs. They are our children and best friends! Why should they be treated any differently at a doggy daycare than you do at home? The answer is, they shouldn’t!” exclaimed Meagan.
On the Ball is located on Prairie Lane between Tavern in the Village and Rimann Liquors. They love being part of the Prairie Village community and knew Prairie Village was the perfect spot to make Meagan’s dog dream a reality.
“You should come see why we are different and bring your dog to give us a try because no other facility in Kansas City will love and care for your dog the way we will. We treat your dog just like they are our own!” said Meagan.
On the Ball has adapted to the times by offering curbside services only. You can take a virtual tour on the website so clients and potential clients can evaluate the space without stepping inside.
“We are a very transparent organization so continuing to show people what we do was important to me. We require our clients to wear masks in their vehicles when they drop off and pickup, and our staff were masks inside our space. We sanitize commonly touched surfaces frequently and hand sanitizer is everywhere throughout our facility.” shared Meagan.
